Raisin Syrup

Raisin syrup is a sweet and flavorful syrup made from concentrated raisin juice or puree. It has a rich and distinctive taste, similar to that of raisins but in a liquid form. As an optional step, turning it into Spiced Raisin Syrup is as simple as adding a few ingredients. Some potential uses:

Ingredients
    Raisin Syrup Core
  • 1 cup Raisins
  • 1 cup Boiling Water (You can use less if you want more concentrated syrup)
  • (Optional) Spiced Raisin Syrup Modifiers
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon ((Optional))
  • 1/2 tsp Cloves ((Optional))
  • 1 tsp Nutmeg ((Optional))
  • 1 tsp Ginger (Ground or Fresh) ((Optional))
Instructions
  1. Add 1 cup boiling water to to 1 cup raisins and cover
  2. (Optional) If taking the 'Spiced Raisin Syrup' route, add the Cinnamon, Cloves, Star Anise, Grated Nutmeg, and Ground Ginger to the raisins and water
  3. Allow to soak for 2 to 3 hours
  4. Put both raisins and liquid in a food processor or blender and process until smooth
  5. Use to replace sugar or brown sugar 1-1 in recipes or as a topper for toast, pancakes, or waffles
